My name is Jason Clark - welcome to my online portfolio!
To describe myself in a professional context, I am:
- Planning focussed; Logical and Methodical,
- Detail Oriented (sometimes too much so),
- Investigative and Perceptive,
- Team-focussed but individually responsible,
- Fast Learning and Industrious.
My biggest flaw is that I am good at a large number of things, but I have not mastered anything in particular. This can be quite disheartening as I know there are a large number of people my age with a more refined knowledge of software development and engineering, but I am content that given the chance I have more to offer than just the ability to write excellent, clean and efficient code.
I like to describe my personality as "adaptive," as I find it rather easy to get along with almost anyone I meet. Having worked in retail and customer relations for so many years has given me a unique set of skills related to handling customer enquiries and facilitating channels of communication. I find that a lot of issues in the workplace are caused by inefficient communication, and I pride myself on being able to communicate clearly with and get along with anyone I meet. Furthermore, I thrive as both a team-member and as an individual, and I excel at working autonomously in high-pressure environments.
In my leisure time I enjoy:
- Game Development (Unity, Unreal, Godot),
- 3D modelling (Blender),
- Warhammer Miniatures, Dungeons and Dragons,
- Reading,
- Cooking,
- Video Games.
I am currently looking for a Junior Software Development or Engineering position within a company, preferably with international presence, with a clear path for advancement in my career. To achieve this goal I am broadening my knowledge of software development and contemporary programming languages at the University of Western Australia and I am also working on my own projects at home.
